New digital journalism

When people think of journalism, they probably think of writing stories, news and many more ideas. Journalism may also be known as only written down or typed. Now journalism has "upgraded" over the years due to technology. Digital journalism is a common new type of journalism nowadays. Story telling is something most journalists loves to do and now with the different multimedia ideas out today, journalists can upgrade their storytelling with formats such as text, audio, videos, graphics and photo slideshows. Studies have shown that with different formats of multimedia, the younger crowd audience will not lack the attention span they need for the reading in depth stories because the new formats such as graphics will make the story more interesting. Audio as well will make the stories a lot more interesting. Because of many multimedia options, the younger crowd audience will be more interested and willing to learn the topics more in-dept. Adding audio and videos to a story will have more people being engaged with the reading. Having multiple multimedia formats for storytelling or news is very effective. Each format can target certain crowd. For example, the older crowd can relate to text multimedia more because they probably grew up with less
technology, so they had to read a lot. As to photo slideshows can target the younger crowd since children and teens do not like to read often. Since journalism can have multimedia ideas, readers can explore the stories and multimedia of their interests and what is easier for them to read and understand. That can be very effective for the audience members. Another interesting thing about having multiple multimedia formats is that a story do not all have to be text or do not all have to be pictures. The story can consist of photos, videos, audio and text at the same time and that will the stories more interesting and easier to understand. Having audio and videos for a story or news report or for blogs is really effective especially if someone can not read well. You can have advantage when you add other formats other than text to your stories or blog because it will draw more attention to it from the audiences. Digital journalism is more compelling to people as well as will sell faster because of it's unique technology formats. The internet has raises concern about the lack of knowledge people would receive because of the multimedia formats due to lack of thinking but readers can learn more if they go beyond just reading text. Digital journalism is a very educated way to learn and it is taking over the media today. Here is a  link to learn more.
